Learning Observed

Imran has a wide and varied interest in the natural world and he chose to delight his Hapu group recently with a speech about Volcanoes. Imran enjoyed researching his topic and finding facts and information that was unusual and interesting. He chose a slide show to present his learning and engaged with the audience as he explained the parts of a volcano and how an eruption occurs.
Imran knew many technical and scientific words to describe the parts of a volcano and was confident to ask questions from the audience. I look forward to hearing about more wonders of the world in Term 4. Good Job Imran.

Evidence of learning

“And if you look very closely, you can see me here on the side of the Volcano!”
Imran takes his research seriously as he gets up close and personal explaining volcanoes to us all.

Next Learning Steps
| |||||||||
Imran needs to aware of his audience and present research that is at their level as some learner were not able to engage with the language and content used. He should also try to take his learning further by using his ideas and findings to launch an iExplore than goes beyond just a presentation. E.g. It would have been lovely to see this iExplore develop into making a (real) miniature volcano in the school grounds for everyone to enjoy.
