My trip to Devanport
One day me and my family we to Davenport for 1 day it was a lot of fun we went on a fairy boat to Davenport and back. When we arrived we got some ice cream and went to a place where there were Navy ships there were so big it was like I was in a movie were some people went WAR! I was surprised that they would have so many Navy ships in one place there was some rides and stuff to when we were going to go back the fairy boat didn't come in time but we had more fun we saw people diving into the water below. They made such big splashes that I nearly got soaked! When the fairy boat arrived we went back home and had a wonderful time.

Imran, Aryan & Humaam's Maori Language Learning Story
Learners: Humaam, Aryan & Imran Learning Coach: T.Dillner Date: 27.7.15

Learning Area: iExperience - Maori Language
|
Learning Observed
|
During Maori Language week the learners rotated through different experiences to extend their knowledge of Maori words and phrases.
Humaam, Aryan and Imran formed a group to work on looking at a range of Maori vocab booklets. They had to look at the pictures and use an iPad app called ‘Pic Collage’ to make a Glossary of new words.
The three boys took time to select a text that they all agreed on and then took turns to use the iPad, using an effective system of taking a photo and passing the device on. They were inclusive of each other and understood what they needed to do to be successful. When needed, the group could choose a person to approach the Learning Coach to ask questions and clarify their ideas.
They were also able to add additional information to their glossary by figuring out how to embed YouTube clips into their Pic Collage. After asking a question about what noise a particular bird made, they decided to find a YouTube clip that answered their question and included it too.

Evidence of learning
|
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
|
Aryan, Imran and Humaam were collaborative when completing this task - they had to pool their ideas and justify their thoughts to the rest of the group members (Participating & Contributing and Relating to Others). They were openly curious, as a lot of the words they came across were new and unfamiliar. When a new word was encountered, they showed their wonder and awe by saying “Wow! I didn’t know that!” or sharing with another learner or a Learning Coach - “Did you know…?” (Using Language, Symbols and Text).
They problem solved to find an answer to a question that emerged multiple times - What does this bird sound like? - by seeking help and connecting this to their collage (Thinking).

Collaboration
This term our C is Collaboration.Collaboration is working as a team and supporting each other as a team.
Our C's are Collaboration, Curious, Capable & Connected.
I am developing to try to be a good Collaborator. My Collaborative goal is to work with others really well and not make an argument about it.
How I Collaborated
Last Friday my habitat sport team played Great Wall and we Collaborated by working to gather to not let the other team get past the wall. Some passed the wall but some didn't!
Also I collaborated with Aryan to catch Ronav ...(We were playing Tag.)
Habitat Sport is...
Our habitat splits into quarters and each quarter has its own name such as my team Wai Poroporo (Purple.)
Our Learning Coaches have a sport such as Foot Ball, Great Wall etc.and in that sport we verse other teams like Wai Poroporo vs Kowhai.
So if my Learning Coach is Mrs Wilkes for habitat sport then i would be playing Great Wall. (I was playing Great Wall)
